The band are all school friends from the cold town of Warrington.
Once a centre of enlightenment thought, where Joseph Priestley
discovered oxygen and Benjamin Franklin looked for inspiration for
how to make the American college, it is now little more than a commuter
bridge between Manchester and Liverpool, its residents sprawled on Friday
nights across 90s retro bars, the police trying to calm down the obese
women in mini skirts so eager to smash alcopop glass bottles over the heads of shaven-haired men.
The band played for the first and, what was meant to be, only time in the back
garden of Nick’s parents' house before he moved to Japan for several years.
The name Extradition Order was decided in reference to what the other members thought was needed to
get him back. After the one fun goodbye show the various members
went on with their lives. See the b-side of their first single, titled ‘Warrington’ to
hear all the gruesome details.
But then the old friends found themselves together again in a new city. The capital of the nation.
They had marched ingradually, one-by-one, and thought why not give the band a go. It started with just
Alastair, then Mark, then Nick returned and finally Matt entered in and all sounded just fine.
They quickly made friends with some lovely other bands who didn't see the choice as being between being either wild or clever and ran their own monthly night, “Friends and Fellow Travellers,”
inviting groups from around the world to play with them including friends such as Jeff and
Jack Lewis, David Cronenberg’s Wife, Stanley Brinks and Congregation.
