If this answers what you need to know, well fine. But don't be afraid to ask or you'll never learn anything.
I Blame The Parents Records released Extradition Order’s first single, Penetrate, on limited red vinyl 7” in June 2008. Now they arrive with their first album.
It will be released at the end of the summer on CD format and as a digital download.
Prior to that there will be two digital singles released. First is “Laura in the Water”, a murder ballad, driven along by a waltz over the waves. Next will be “Matches Meet Petrol”, you could never find a livelier, more danceable, tale of immolation. B-sides will include live favourites "House Carpenter" and "Thirty Years".
“Since The Bomb Dropped”, is produced by Ian Button (ex Thrashing Doves/Death In Vegas). The cover is a striking image commissioned from the venerable anarchist (and) artist Clifford Harper (no relation to the band’s Alastair – mere serendipity). They did it all by themselves, those plucky lads, with the exception of one brilliant guest musician in the form of Dave Beauchamp (Johnny Flynn and Jeffrey Lewis).
The opening “Atticus” is archetypal Extradition Order, literary and thrilling in equal measure. The syncopated beats of “Matches Meet Petrol” follow to defy expectation. The album has many moods - the garage rock explosions of Islington Creeper and Peterloo, the epic white collar paranoia of Candide, the waltzing shanty murder ballad of Laura In The Water – finishing with the mesmerising Spector arrangement and raw emotion of Marriage. It is a testament to Extradition Order’s uniqueness that throughout the variety of the tracks they never lose their way. No individuals – only Order.
